Foundations for Early Learning

"Through A Childs's Eyes" provides a Pre-Kindergarten program to children who are considered "At Risk" of academic failure. This Pre-Kindergarten program, Foundations for Early Learning, provides a safe haven of instruction for the children and a source of family education for their parents in Cicero, Illinois.

The involvement of "Through A Childs Eyes" in this Pre-Kindergarten program is due to our work with families through the Early Intervention program and the realization that there are few resources available within the Town of Cicero that respond to the needs of children who are at-risk of academic failure without appropriate services.

Funded by a grant from the Illinois State Board of Education, since July 2005, the Foundations for Early Learning program provides Pre-Kindergarten program services to 400 children that reside in Cicero, Illinois. The Pre-Kindergarten program services are provided to 200 children in a two and one half hour AM session or to 200 children in a two and one half hour PM session.

The Foundations for Early Learning program follows the Creative Curriculum as a framework and is provided by a highly trained bilingual staff committed to addressing the needs of the whole family and helping them to achieve their highest potential.

Teaching staff is comprised of Illinois Certified Type 04 teachers in a setting that is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

The services provided by the Foundations for Early Learning are provided at no cost to children eligible for the program
